Spro Bucktail Jig-Pack of 1
$4.00 On sale
The Prime Bucktail Jig is not like any other jig on the market. The unique shape of the head and placement of the eyelet help bring this lure to life. With bulging eyes, holographic finish and blazing color, it puts fish at your mercy. The uniqueness of this bait is that it doesn't fall or hang straight down like other bucktails. It glides through the water, almost swimming along. When jigged, its body stays almost parallel to the bottom maintaining a very natural appearance.
Like all SPRO products, Prime Bucktail Jigs are made with durable, super sharp Gamakatsu hooks. Once you fish it, you'll know why SPRO is the shape of things to come. It's hard to fish the Prime Bucktail wrong. It can be jigged off the bottom for weakfish, fluke, or other saltwater fish. Cast it at schooling fish working it quickly back to the boat for cobia, stripers, snook, or dolphin. Swim it along in freshwater for big bass and walleyes, or troll it for reservoir stripers. It's hard to find somewhere that the Prime Bucktail won't work.

These lures, when used alone or tipped with a trailer such as Gulp!, account for at least as many summer flounder as live bait along the Northeast Coast, especially in N.J. Though many colors are offered and effective, the white seems to be the #1 choice for the nearshore and surf fisherman. Due to the design of the head and placement of the hook's eye, this lure can be fished just below the surface with
a rapid retrieve, or throughout the water column. For those fish that are bottom feeders, the retrieve and rod tip are worked slower. The lure is moved in slower spurts ( to a crawl, if necessary ) over the bottom until a strike is achieved.
Once the species of fish is determined, the water column and action are adjusted
accordingly: bluefish, striped bass, weakfish and fluke all love this lure.
And I love this lure simply because they do.
Great detail and finish on the head. Surprised at the quality of the paint job, although it's starting to chip on the nose after 50 casts in sandy surf.
Great hook. The thing is legit, as expected for Gamakatsu.
Crappy skirt! After one surf session I've already lost half of the hairs on the 1 oz chartreuse version. My old Wahoos are still as fluffy as the day I bought them. Not sure why the Spros can't keep up.
Was going to give these 3 stars, but 10 minutes into my first try with my first ever Spro I caught a 22" striper. Absolutely perfect hookset and easy removal for a clean release. 4 stars it is! Like I said, love/hate relationship:) I'll throw on a grub trailer to make up for the balding Spro as long as it nabs keepers.
